The community of Ozark will vote on a $26.5 million no tax increase bond issue for Ozark School District during the June 2 election, which Gov. Mike Parson moved from April 7.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed Ozark School District’s short-term operations, it has not changed the District’s long-term needs and goals.
If approved, the $26.5 million no tax increase bond will allow for the renovation of the Ozark Innovation Center and expansion of Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center.
Community members may vote absentee. If the reason for voting absentee is due to COVID-19, Christian County Clerk Kay Brown said on the absentee application (https://www.christiancountymo.gov/wp-content/uploads/AbsenteeForm10-10-19.pdf) to mark the second option: “Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including caring for a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability.” This option does not need notarized.
If you would like to vote absentee by mail or in person, contact the Christian County Clerk’s Office at 582-4340.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is May 20. The ballot must be returned by 7 p.m. June 2.
In-person absentee ballots may be cast at the County Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday as well as 8 a.m. - noon Saturday, May 30.
