Last month, two Ozark High School seniors, Mirabella Blair and Paige Taylor, were selected for the 2023 Missouri Scholars 100, a program sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. The program honors 100 of Missouri’s top academic students in a graduating class. 

“Becoming a Missouri Scholar 100 is such a great accomplishment. It is a culmination of years of hard work,” said OHS Senior Counselor Sarah Peterson. “We are so proud of these two girls and what they have achieved.”

Students nominated for Missouri Scholars 100 have to first meet the criteria of an “Academic Decathlon” which includes ten “events'' designed to ensure the student's academic strength. Each student must have a minimum GPA of 3.750, a minimum ACT score of 29, or a minimum SAT score of 1280, be ranked in the upper ten percent of the class and take high-level courses in mathematics, science, English and foreign language. Each student must also have excellent attendance, be an exemplary school citizen, and be involved in the school activity program. 

Blair and Taylor will be recognized next week at a ceremony in Columbia.
