Board of Education Swears in Incumbent, Newcomer; Orr Named President
The Ozark Board of Education is happy to welcome one incumbent and one newly-elected member following the April 5 election. Incumbent Sarah Adams Orr and newcomer Mark Jenkins were sworn onto the board at the April 14 meeting. The Board voted to elect Orr to serve as president and Patty Quessenberry as vice president for the 2022-23 school year.
“I welcome this opportunity to serve our community and to help our District continue on its path of excellence,” said Orr, who is starting her 10th year on the board. “I’m proud that our District has always been committed to having the best educational resources in the region for our students as well as award-winning student activities, athletics and organizations. Being a part of our District’s Board of Education is an honor and I can’t think of a better way to serve the Ozark community I love.”
Superintendent Chris Bauman said he’s thankful to have board members who are active and dedicated to Ozark’s mission.
“Ms. Orr is very experienced with the board, and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with her as we move forward with our bond projects and grade level changes,” Bauman said. “Being an Ozark graduate herself, I’m excited to work with someone who is so experienced as well as dedicated to Ozark students and staff.”
