JROTC Competes at Gary Anderson Rifle Meet, Hosts Tiger Drill Classic

Ozark JROTC competed in a pair of events on a busy Saturday Dec. 4 with the Drill team playing host to the Tiger Drill Classic and the Rifle team traveling to Anniston, Alabama for the Gary Anderson Rifle meet. 

In Anniston, the Rifle team earned a couple of second-place finishes and featured four top-8 individual finishes in the sporter individual competition. Saturday’s event marked the final competition of the calendar year for the Rifle team as their next outing will be at the CMP State match on Jan. 15.

The‌ ‌Ozark‌ ‌Rifle‌ ‌Team‌ placed‌ ‌as‌ follows:‌ ‌

Out of 54 sporter teams:

  • Sporter 1 - 2nd Place
  • Sporter 2 - 5th Place

Out of 25 precision teams:

  • Precision - 2nd Place

Sporter Individual:

  • Sydney Broussard - 5th Place
  • Asa Wells - 6th Place
  • Hanna McConnell -  7th Place
  • Elijah Glenn - 8th Place

The Tiger Drill Classic welcomed 12 teams to Ozark where they competed in multiple events, including armed and unarmed regulation, expedition and color guard. Cadets also had the opportunity to compete in duals and solos. Ozark’s armed and unarmed teams did not participate in any of the events except for New Cadet and the solo and dual performances.
