OHS Students' Artwork Selected for 'Best of the Midwest' Exhibition

Seven Ozark High School art students were honored recently by having their artwork selected for Drury University’s Sixth Annual Best of the Midwest High School Competitive Exhibition. OHS students Calla Yearta-Sothern and Arden Taylor earned additional accolades for their artwork. Yearta-Sothern received the Best of Show award for her digital photography pieces while Taylor took first place in the sculpture category. 

The artwork will be displayed at Drury’s Pool Art Center Gallery, located at 940 N. Clay Ave. in Springfield, for the duration of the exhibition which closes on Nov. 24. 

Entries were open to all high school students throughout the Midwest and students were allowed to submit up to three entries.

With her Best of Show award, Yearta-Sothern will receive an art and art history activity grant for students accepted to Drury University, which is $2,000 toward Drury tuition and renewable up to four years.
