JROTC Raider Team Earns Top-5 Finishes at Leavenworth

The Ozark JROTC Raider Team traveled to Leavenworth, Kan. on Sept. 18 to compete against 31 teams from 16 different schools, including schools from Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Ozark Team 1 took second place overall, with individual event finishes as follows:

  • Tire Flip - 6th place
  • 5K Run - 1st place
  • Obstacle Course - 3rd place
  • Cross Country Rescue - 1st place
  • Physical Team Test - 4th place
  • Gauntlet - 1st place
  • Rope Bridge - 5th place
  • Psycho Team Event - 2nd place

Ozark Team 2 placed fifth overall, with individual event finishes as follows:

  • Tire Flip - 3rd place
  • 5K Run - 6th place
  • Obstacle Course - 4th place
  • Cross Country Rescue - 4th place
  • Physical Team Test - 1st place
  • Gauntlet - 4th place
  • Rope Bridge - 17th place (due to a 1-minute penalty)
  • Psycho Team Event - 7th place

The Ozark Raider all-female team beat out the other two female teams who competed at this meet while also finishing ahead of six other male/mixed teams.

Another great competition in the books for the Raiders as each contest brings the team closer to the Nationals. As the team continues to prepare for the biggest competition of the year, they strive for greatness in practice and are determined to reach their highest potential.
