Townsend and Neal, who work in the District's gifted program, will use the $500 grant to purchase supplies for their "Chair"ities unit, including kitchen chairs, sandpaper and paint supplies. KITES (Kids in Talented Educational Studies) students will research different charities and compare and analyze where and how donations are used. Students will then refurbish chairs to auction off, donating the money they raise to their chosen charity. Idella Warden, MRTA Region 10 membership chair, presented this grant in memory of her parents, Daniel and Ruby McHan, longtime educators in Howell and Christian counties.
