Board of Education Swears in 2 Incumbents; Bass Named President
The Ozark Board of Education is happy to welcome back two members following the April 6 election. Incumbents Aaron Johns and Patty Quessenberry, who ran uncontested, were sworn onto the board at the April 15 meeting. Johns then passed on his duties as board president to Tom Bass, who the Board voted to serve as president for the 2021-22 school year. Andy Hedgpeth will serve as vice president.
“I am excited about this next step in my board career. It’s a very accomplished board and I’ve enjoyed serving with the other members,” said Bass, who has served on the board for 10 years. “I believe we are a board that’s focused on its mission to provide the best possible education and environment for our students. I look forward to a successful year of continuing that mission.”
Superintendent Chris Bauman said he’s thankful to have board members who are active and dedicated to Ozark’s mission.
“Mr. Bass has been a board member since 2011 and I’m looking forward to working with him in the capacity of board president,” Bauman said. “I’m thankful for the commitment our board of education displays toward the staff and students at Ozark School District.”
