The Board of Education voted to change the start date of the 2020-21 school year to Thursday, Aug. 20. Students will not be in school on Monday, Sept. 28, and Monday, Nov. 2, in order to build in two deep cleaning days.
In May, the Missouri State Board of Education approved exemptions to the school start date law allowing school districts to start earlier than Aug. 24. As we are preparing our reentry plans for the 2020-21 school year, we believe adding in deep cleaning days will be a necessary step in the safety of our students and staff. We will also utilize holidays and weather days for deep cleaning days as needed.
