Ozark Names Assistant Principal for 2021-22 School Year

The Ozark Board of Education, at its March 25 meeting, voted to hire Kristy Richart as the North Elementary assistant principal for the 2021-22 school year.

Richart has nearly 20 years of experience in education. She has worked in the Nixa School District since 2004 teaching first, second and third grades, and most recently serving as a reading specialist. She started her teaching career in 2002 at Ash Grove School District teaching third grade. Richart is replacing current Assistant Principal Dr. Morgan Kelly, who will take the helm as North Elementary principal following the retirement of Dr. Karen Hood.

“I am excited to join Ozark North Elementary and be a part of such a great school family,” Richart said. “I have a passion to see students succeed, and I look forward to continuing to do what’s always best for kids.”

Richert obtained an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Drury University in 2002 and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Southwest Baptist University in 2014.

I look forward to the addition of Kristy to our elementary administrative team,” said Dr. Kent Sappington, executive director of elementary learning. “Her experience with early childhood interventions and her flexibility to do whatever it takes to help kids really made her stand out among other candidates. She will be an excellent addition to North Elementary and their consistent pursuit of excellence.”
