14 OHS Students Sign to Continue their Sport in College

Last week, 14 OHS seniors formally announced their commitment to play their sport in college. Ranging from soccer to swimming and even band, these students participated in a signing ceremony where they were honored for not only their achievement, but also all they have done for Ozark.

Congrats to the following students:

Emma Burton (Southwest Baptist University)

"Emma goes in hard and gives everything. Players who want to be exceptional should follow this example. Not only is SBU getting a great player, they are getting a great leader on and off the field." (OHS Head Girls' Soccer Coach Chris Shull)

Shaeley Combs (Drury University)

"Shaeley has grown into her leadership over the years. She used to be reserved and kept to herself but now she's stepped out of her comfort zone and she's an advocate for her team. She is such an exciting player to watch on the field, in the first few minutes of every game, Shaeley sets the tone." (OHS Head Girls' Soccer Coach Chris Shull)

------

Clarice Wheeler (University of the Ozarks)

"She keeps driving herself and pushing herself to reach new goals and dreams. She plays with passion on the field, and never allows herself to reach a plateau. She keeps wanting more. She faces a new challenge, conquers it then looks for the bigger challenge." (OHS Head Girls' Soccer Coach Chris Shull)

Clarice has also committed to wrestle for UofO.

"I've learned a lot about her in good times and bad, and I'm really excited to see her at the next level." (OHS Head Wrestling Coach Tod Sundlie)

------

Emma Godwin (College of the Ozarks)

"Emma has been a part of Ozark Volleyball for six years, and has made an everlasting impact. She is one of the most genuinely kind and uplifting players I have coached and she pushes herself to be the best version of herself she can be." (OHS Head Volleyball Coach Adeana Brewer)

------

Anna Howe (College of the Ozarks)

"She has brought her team and me, as her coach, so much pride. Anna sets high expectations of herself but also encourages others around her to set theirs high as well. She makes people around her better, not only on the volleyball court, but everywhere she goes and in everything she does. (OHS Head Volleyball Coach Adeana Brewer)

------

Sophie Morris (College of the Ozarks)

"Sophie has worked so incredibly hard to become the best volleyball player she can, but has also worked hard to become a better leader for our team both on and of the court. While she has always demonstrated a mature demeanor, Sophie has pushed herself outside of her comfort zone to provide positive examples of leadership and selflessness to her teammates." (OHS Head Volleyball Coach Adeana Brewer)

Abby Beets (Evangel University)

"Congrats to Abby on signing with Evangel next year. She PR last night on pole vault making her 4th in the state I believe. On top of that, I want to say that Abby is a leader. Pole Vault is a really unique event and not a lot of people know much about it and she helps us teach all of our younger kids and helps us grow that program. " (OHS Track and Field Assistant Coach Kramer Patterson)

------

Kandance Kirkland (Evangel University)

"She strives for speed. Being a new track athlete I think she's got her best ahead of her and I know she'll do a great job at Evangel." (OHS Head Girls' Track and Field Coach David Brewer)

-----

Aiden McCracken (Crowder College)

"Our Cross Country program operates on three core values: Consistency, Courage and Desire to compete. This year Aiden showed a great commitment to cross country and I believe he is just now scratching the surface of his potential. He say himself improve by 50 seconds between his junior and senior year, and that did not come easily. " (OHS Head Cross Country Coach Mitch Furtkamp)

------

Garrett Ballard (Baptist Bible College)

"When Garrett entered our program back in 7th grade, you had quiet, respectful kid who loved playing basketball. Today we celebrate him as he reaches one of his goals. Garrett was extremely instrumental in this season's turn around. He helped us play our best basketball at the end of the year and he exemplifies what we value in the Ozark Basketball Program." (OHS Head Boys Basketball Coach Mark Schweitzer)

------

Haven Haymes (Concordia University)

"She's an extremely hard worker and a great teammate. She started the season being a vocal leader for us on the floor, but unfortunately tore her ACL in December. If you know anything about Haven though, you know that's not going to stop her. She worked hard on her rehab, and became a vocal leader of us from the bench and I wouldn't expect anything else from her. I'm excited to see her back on the floor next year. " (OHS Head Girls' Basketball Coach Brandon Clift)

------

Alexis Solomon (Lyon College)

"She was selected as a 2nd-team All-COC player and averaged just under 10 points a game this year. She prides herself on defense. If you've ever watched her play, you get to see her block out and take charge. Truly proud of her and can't wait to see her succeed at the next level." (OHS Head Girls' Basketball Coach Brandon Clift)

------

Graham Eisenmann (Hope College - Swim & Dive)

"On the swim team, Graham is a beast of a trainer. He's a two-time All-Stater and graduates with three school records. He just does a fantastic job day in and day out. He's a leader every day and its exciting to see him continue." (OHS Head Swim & Dive Coach Steve Boyce)

------

Caleb Hays (University of Missouri (Columbia) - School of Music)

"We are so proud of Caleb. He's been an important leader for us in the band program. He's been a drum major for two years. He's in the all-state band this year and made finals for the all-state jazz band. He's incredibly talented and Mizzou is lucky to have him." (OHS Band Director Tom Meyer)
