Archery has Successful Inaugural Year

The 2020-21 Ozark Archery Team qualified to compete at the State NASP Archery Tournament where students shot against over 2300 competitors. This school year marked the first time Ozark had a competitive archery team. At State, the team had some individual successes, including some personal best scores, six individuals shooting over 250 out of 300, and 55 team bullseyes.

On a local level, the team placed first at Sparta, second at Clever, and in the top four at the Galena and Billings tournaments. Ozark also had several individuals get top 10 tournament finishes throughout the season.

"Overall it's been an incredible first year for Ozark," Coach Travis Phipps said. "It was great to see how many students have advanced from the beginning of the year, with some never shooting, to become very good fundamental and competitive archers. We hope to build on this year's successes and see the Ozark Archery Team advance, as several students have really found a fit with this program."
