Ozark JROTC Rifle, Drill Teams Place First in Competitions

Jan. 26 was a busy and exciting day for Ozark High School Army JROTC cadets, as they attended two different competitions and brought home many first-place trophies.

The Rifle Team, which consists of 14 members, traveled to St. Louis to compete in the Annual SLUH Missouri State Rifle Championship, placing as follows:

  • Ozark Team 1 - First in Sporter Division
  • Ozark Team 2 - Second in Sporter Division
  • Ozark Precision Team - First in Precision Division

JROTC Rifle Team

The Drill Team, which consists of 40 members, traveled to Waynesville to compete in the Annual Waynesville Drill Meet, placing as follows:

  • New Cadet (lead by Jacob Priest) - First
  • Armed Colorguard (lead by Andrew Buckmaster) - First
  • Armed Exhibition (lead by Andrew Buckmaster) - First
  • Armed Regulation (lead by Trey Vaught) - First
  • Overall Armed - First
  • Unarmed Exhibition (lead by Kaylee Bouldin) - Second
  • Unarmed Colorguard (lead by Kaylee Bouldin) - Third
  • Overall Unarmed - Third
  • Grand Championship - First

The Ozark Leadership in Action Drill Team, which consists of eighth-grade cadets, placed second in New Cadet, led by Savannah Powell.
