OJH, East Elementary Students Team Up to Celebrate Missouri Day
On Oct. 19, third graders from East Elementary and baking students from Ozark Junior High School celebrated Missouri Day with an awesome Show-Me-State activity, frosting Missouri-shaped cookies and decorating them with candy and sprinkles galore, to indicate where the rivers and important cities are across the state.
"We were grateful to have the third graders from East Elementary visit us on Missouri Day," OJH FACS teacher Mrs. Brockmeier said. "They got to work with my baking students to decorate Missouri-shaped cookies and we got to label the rivers and the capitol and important cities."
Brockmeier added that this was the first year the two schools had done something like this.
"We hope to do it again in the future," she said.
