Ozark Announces New Assistant Principals for 2023-24 School Year

Ozark School District is welcoming two new assistant principals for the 2023-24 school year. The Board of Education, at the April 13 meeting, approved Ashley Penrod as assistant principal for Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center and Brandon Scott for Ozark Middle School. Current Tiger Paw Assistant Principal Brianna Kelly is transitioning to East Elementary.

“I am super excited about Mrs. Kelly's move from our preschool to East Elementary. Her expertise in early childhood development will help us to create smoother transitions between our preschool and our kindergarten students across the District,” said Executive Director of Elementary Education Dr. Kent Sappington. “Mrs. Penrod and Mr. Scott round out our elementary admin team for the 23-24 school year. Each of them will bring a unique and fresh perspective to our team. Their enthusiasm will serve us all well!”

Penrod, currently a third-grade teacher at North Elementary, started teaching in the Reeds Spring School District in 2007, becoming an Ozark Tiger in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Missouri Valley College in 2006 and her Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Southwest Baptist University in 2010.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve the Ozark School District as Tiger Paw assistant principal,” Penrod said. “I am excited to collaborate with the outstanding educators, students, families and the community of Ozark to provide our youngest learners with the highest quality of education possible, and continue building upon the tradition of academic excellence.”

Scott started his career in education in 2010 and has been a physical education teacher at Buchanan Intermediate in Branson since 2013. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Evangel University in 2010 and he earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University in 2022.

“I am deeply honored for the opportunity to join the Ozark Tiger family as an assistant principal at Ozark Middle School,” Scott said. “I look forward to building new relationships with students, staff and the Ozark community. The Ozark District has a history of high achievement, and I will work hard to continue this tradition.”

Kelly worked in early childhood special education for 10 years, joining Ozark School District in 2016 teaching at Tiger Paw. She became Tiger Paw assistant principal in 2021.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the Ozark School District as the assistant principal at East Elementary,” she said. “I look forward to connecting the foundational work that we have been laying at Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center with the amazing learning opportunities that are taking place in the elementary setting. East Elementary has a strong tradition of quality academic success, and I look forward to collaborating with staff, students and families to continue meeting the needs of our community.”
