  • Ozark School District Purchases Facility as Part of Long Range Plan

    SLS Audio Products - Dolby Laboratories now has a new neighbor as Ozark School District closed on the purchase of the commercial property known as the Fasco building located at 1600 W. Jackson St. in Ozark on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The $4.1 million purchase is part of Phase 1 of the District's Long Range Plan, which the Board of Education approved in March, and will serve as an extension of the main Ozark High School campus and a new location of District Office.

  • Ozark Summer School Students on an EDventure

    Over the past few weeks, have you seen Ozark Zoology students at the Finley River exploring? Or maybe you saw OHS students in the Personal Finance class comparing prices at Cash Saver. Or you could have seen students in the Leadership Through Writing class talking to residents and cleaning the courtyard at the nursing home. That's because Summer School is in full swing and offers students the opportunity to participate in unique, hands-on activities.

    Missouri Governor Mike Parson visited students at West Elementary May 10. He stopped by a few classrooms before talking to students in an assembly about the importance of teachers and recognizing Teacher Appreciation Week.

    Alan Shih, a fourth grade student at West Elementary, competed at the state math contest held May 4 by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Mathleague.org at Columbia College in Columbia.

  • Anna Thurman Named East Elementary Principal

    Anna Thurman has been the assistant principal at South Elementary since 2013. Thurman began teaching in 2001 and has taught multiple grade levels. She joined Ozark School District in 2007 teaching fourth grade before moving to elementary science in 2010.

  • Earliest Learners: Preschool Screening Registration Open for Tiger Paw

    Children who live in Ozark School District may be eligible to attend one of the Early Childhood Preschool programs, and can participate in a free preschool screening. Slated March 19-22, screenings are open for children who will be 3 years old on or before July 31, and children who are 4 years old.

  • Dream Big, Do Good: Ozark Teacher Wins $1,000

    The sign in Tori McBain's office says "Everyone smiles in the same language." And the smiles on her and the faces of her students say it all. Silver Dollar City recently notified McBain, an English-language learner teacher at Ozark South and West elementary schools, that she won $1,000 in the Dream Big, Do Good campaign.
