THINGS TO KNOW

The transfer would move 20 cents per $100 of assessed valuation from the Debt Service Fund into the Operating Fund.

This transfer will provide approximately $1.5 million annually to help offset rising operating costs and allow the district to continue to raise salaries to be more competitive with other local school districts.

The overall tax levy of $4.14 will remain the same, regardless of the vote.

Voter approval is required to transfer funds from the Debt Service Fund to the Operating Fund.

A simple majority of qualified voters casting votes is required for this to pass, which means 50 percent plus 1 “yes” votes.

In essence, we are asking our community to transfer money from our savings account to our checking account to help with staff salaries.” Dr. Lori wilson, ozark superintendent

FAQ

Levy Updates

BALLOT LANGUAGE
Shall the Board of Education of Ozark R-VI School District be authorized to increase the operating tax levy ceiling to $3.3857 per $100 of assessed valuation according to the 2025 assessment for general operating expenses of the District, including increasing compensation for employees to attract and retain quality faculty and staff?

If this question is approved, the operating tax levy of the District is estimated to increase by $0.20 from $3.1857 to $3.3857 per $100 of assessed valuation, and the District expects to make a corresponding reduction to its debt service tax levy of $0.20 resulting in no increase to the overall tax levy of the District which is estimated to remain unchanged at $4.1400 per $100 of assessed valuation.
