Ozark School District Maintains Over Decade-Long Streak of Clean Audit Reports

Ozark School District continued its more than decade-long tradition of receiving a clean audit report from an independent auditor.

At the Dec. 19, 2024, Board of Education meeting, Matt Wallace of KPM CPAs & Advisors presented the audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Wallace reported that the District concluded the year with a solid and stable fund balance of just over 26%.

Dr. Robert Hedgecorth, Executive Director of Finance and Business Services, said the District successfully completed the final projects funded by the 2022 bond during the fiscal year “under budget and on time." Additionally, the District provided staff with salary increases of 3.5% to 4.5%, all while increasing reserves — highlighting the District’s conservative and effective financial management.

Dr. Hedgecorth, who began his role in July 2024, credited the District's strong financial foundation for its continued success.

"I am thrilled to be with Ozark School District and enjoy working closely with our business services department,” he said. “The results of this audit are a testament to the department's great work and the outstanding stewardship demonstrated by leaders in our school buildings when managing district funds. The news of our latest clean audit reflects the high standard that Ozark School District has set and continues to achieve."

Wallace reviewed various aspects of the 56-page report, declaring the audit “unmodified and presented fairly,” the highest rating the District can receive, before the board approved it.
