OHS Student Signs with Bear POWER
OHS Senior Kamran Hinton is ready to take the next steps in his education. On May 22, he signed with Missouri State to be a part of the Bear POWER program, the second Ozark student to do so.
“We are so proud of all of the growth that Kamran has demonstrated over the past four years here at OHS,” said Adeana Brewer, OHS speech-language pathologist. “He's an incredibly dedicated student, pouring his heart and soul into every aspect of high school life, from academics to extracurriculars. Kamran has been involved in the Ozark Tiger Volleyball program as a student manager and has represented the Tigers in every sport offered through Ozark Special Olympics. His passion for his school is unmatched; he is the ultimate Ozark Tiger. We are so excited for him to represent Ozark High School as a Bear next fall in the Missouri State Bear POWER program. He is now ready to bleed maroon and white!”
Bear POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Work, Education and Resilience) is a program for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program follows high school graduation. Those in the program earn a non-degree certificate and upon graduation, they will be ready to find a job that matches their skills and dreams.
