FFA Students Win Big at Area Competition

On Feb. 8, Ozark FFA students competed against 22 area schools at an event that highlights a requirement of their agriculture education: Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Projects. 

An SAE project involves practical agricultural activities performed by students outside of the classroom and provides a way for agriculture students to receive real-world career experiences in an area of agriculture that they are most interested in.

"Students had to complete 15-18 page applications showing various projects they are involved in, financial decisions and impacts made, as well as future goals they have for their represented industry,” FFA Sponsor Travis Phipps said. “These applications were then judged against the other schools' students in each area.”

Six students' projects won Area Proficiency Awards, which qualified them to compete at the state competition in April, and 14 other students placed in the top three of their category. Congratulations to the following students and all who competed:
