    WORLDS OF FUN FESTIVAL OF MUSIC COMPETITION
     
     
    On Saturday, April 27th, The OHS Varsity Chorale and Women's Chamber Choir will be traveling to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City to participate in the Festival of Music Competition. State Solo and Ensemble Contest is Friday April 26th, and these groups will leave from that event to attend the Festival. All information can be found in the form below.
    Permission forms are due Friday, March 29th.

    I am so proud of our OHS students, both in how they sang, and how they conducted themselves and represented Ozark.     Women’s Concert Choir HS2021 

    (1 Credit, Gr. 10-12) Prerequisite: Audition with Mrs. Brammer or Mr. Wilkins

    Women’s Concert Choir will be offered during the 5A block, and is open to all females 10-12 interested in vocal music. Topics to be studied include proper vocal singing and breathing techniques, melody, rhythm, harmony, form, style, music fundamentals and history, sight singing and performance practices. Students will perform both Treble literature and Mixed literature jointly with Men’s Choir. It is a stepping stone class to enter Women’s Chamber Choir and Varsity Chorale. This ensemble is a performing group in which 4 concerts a year are required. Students may be responsible for some expenses incurred.

     

     

    Men’s Choir HS2022

    (1 Credit, Gr. 10-12) Prerequisite: Audition with Mrs. Brammer or Mr. Wilkins

    Men’s Choir will be offered during the 3A block, and is open to all males 10-12 interested in vocal music. Topics to be studied include proper vocal singing and breathing techniques, melody, rhythm, harmony, form, style, music fundamentals and history, sight singing and performance practices. Students will perform both Men’s literature and Mixed literature jointly with Women’s Concert Choir. It is a stepping stone class to enter Varsity Chorale. This ensemble is a performing group in which 4 concerts a year are required. Students may be responsible for some expenses incurred.

     

     

    Women’s Chamber Choir HS2029

    (1 Credit, Gr. 10-12) Prerequisite: Audition with Mrs. Brammer or Mr. Wilkins

    Women’s Chamber Choir will be offered during the 4A block, and is the highest level Women's Ensemble available at Ozark High School. It is an auditioned choir of mostly junior and senior women who have successfully completed one or more years in choral singing or have voice tested into higher levels of choral singing, sight reading, and literacy. This ensemble requires extra time devoted to District and State Choir and Contest events, as well as community events, tours, and competitive choral concerts throughout the state and country. There will be many hours of extra-curricular time spent in Women’s Chamber Choir, and students should be aware that this class will be a top priority as it is a public representation of choirs to the community from OHS. Students may be responsible for some expenses incurred.

     

     

    Varsity Chorale HS2024

    (1 Credit, Gr. 10-12) Prerequisite: Audition with Mrs. Brammer or Mr. Wilkins, & enrollment in Men’s Choir or Women’s Chamber Choir

    Varsity Chorale will be offered during the 4B block, and is the highest level Mixed Ensemble of 10-12 grade men and women who have successfully completed one or more years in choral singing or have voice tested into higher levels of choral singing, sight reading, and literacy. This ensemble requires extra time devoted to District and State Choir and Contest events, as well as community events, tours, and competitive choral concerts throughout the state and country. There will be many hours of extra-curricular time spent in Varsity Chorale, and students should be aware that this class will be a top priority as it is a public representation of choirs to the community from OHS. Members of Varsity Chorale will be required to be enrolled in Men’s Choir or Women’s Chamber Choir as well. Students may be responsible for some expenses incurred.
