Final examinations will be given at the end of the semester in all classes. These finals are to count no more than 10% of the final grade. According to policy, students may opt out of individual class finals if they meet the following criteria:
- They have missed two (2) days or fewer of school that semester. Two days are calculated based on total minutes. One day is equal to 393 minutes (6.55 hours). Therefore, a student who has missed a cumulative of 786 minutes (13.1 hours) of school or less meets the attendance criteria.
- They have an A, B, or C in the class.
- They have not been assigned any After-School Detention (ASD), In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) by an administrator during the semester.
Students who opt out of taking their final(s) can choose to not attend school on those dates, however they need to be aware that the absence(s) will count toward their overall attendance percentage.
