School Police
The mission of the Ozark School Police Force is to ensure that students and staff have a safe and secure learning environment in which to learn and teach, enabling each student to achieve his or her maximum potential and future success.
Captain Mark Deeds
• 36-year veteran of law enforcement
• Worked in the areas of patrol, narcotics, special investigations, crimes against children, crimes against persons and criminal investigations
• Retired as a detective sergeant from Springfield, Mo. Police Department
• Served as an SRO since 2010
Assignment: Director of School Police and Captain with the Christian County Sheriff's Office
Jimmy Andela
• 29-year veteran of law enforcement
• Served in the areas of patrol, narcotics, criminal investigations and community services
• Retired from Springfield, Mo. Police Department
Assignment: Christian County Deputy Sheriff and SRO assigned to Ozark Middle School
Darren Combs
• 25-year veteran of law enforcement
• Former Christian County Patrol Deputy and DARE instructor
• Served as an SRO since 2003
Assignment: Christian County Deputy Sheriff and SRO assigned to Ozark Junior High
Amanda Fry-Ryan
• 19-year veteran of law enforcement
• Former Capitol Police Officer in Illinois
• Served as an SRO since 2007
Assignment: Christian County Deputy Sheriff and SRO assigned to Ozark High School
Steve Hoerning
• Over 40 years of public safety
• Retired Assistant Fire Chief/Paramedic with the Springfield, Mo. Fire Department
• Served as an SRO since 2012
Assignment: Christian County Deputy Sheriff and SRO assigned to Ozark elementary school buildings
John Wilkerson
• 22-year veteran of law enforcement
• Retired from the United States Army, Military Police
• Served 3 years as a Patrol Deputy with the Christian county Sheriff's Office
• Served as an SRO since 2018
Assignment: Sergeant with the Christian County Sheriff's Office and SRO assigned to the Ozark Innovation Center
