AVerVision 300 series FAQ
- The brightness on the presentation screen is dark and unreadable.
- There is no camera image on the presentation screen.
- There is no computer signal on the presentation screen.
- There are distortions on my Presenter screen.
- The picture on the presentation screen is out of focus.
- There are distorted lines running across the presentation screen.
- The power light is completely off. "Red" standby light is no longer lit up. Pressing power button does not power on the camera.
The brightness on the presentation screen is dark and unreadable.
- Refresh Auto exposure in your document camera’s Menu. Press Menu >Advanced > Exposure > Auto > enter.
- Reset your unit to Default by pressing Menu > Default > Right arrow. Then power-cycle your camera.
- Make sure there are sufficient lighting in the room or Turn on the LED lamp on the document camera’s head
- If you are in a dark environment, turn on “Night View” in your document camera’s menu; please refer to the menu tree in your User’s Manual.
- Manually adjusts the Brightness and Contrast levels in the Camera’s Menu.
- Check your projector’s bulb; it may need to be changed.

- Check all the connectors again as illustrated in the user manual.
- Verify the setting of the display output device; make sure it is set to the correct source/channel.
- Check the TV/RGB switch on the side of the camera and set it accordingly to the type of display device you have.
- Toggle the TV/VGA button (if applicable) on your unit’s control panel and set it accordingly to the type of display device you have.
- The unit’s power light turns Red in standby mode. Press the POWER button again to turn it ON and the LED Power light will turn Green.
- The default camera display resolution setting is on 1024X768. If your output device does not support this resolution; no image can be projected. Simply press hold the MENU and < > button to increase or decrease the resolution setting.
- Check all cables are good among the display device, AVerVision Document Camera and your PC, replace cables if necessary.

- If you are using a Laptop, make sure you set your laptop to Dual display mode. Refer to your laptop’s user manual for the proper command.

- Reset your camera to Default by Pressing MENU > Default > Yes > Enter. Then Power-Cycle your camera.
- Check your output device’s focus adjustment.
- If your Camera has Auto focus, Press the auto focus button on your document camera’s control panel.
- Power-Cycle your AVerVision Document Camera to reset the focus motor.
- If Manual Focus adjustment is available on your camera’s remote control, try adjusting back to focal point from the remote.
- If your camera has a Manual focus knob, manually adjust the focus by turning the focus knob located on the camera head.
- If adjusting the focus knob does not focus the image, please click here for instructions on how to fix the focus ring.
There are distorted lines running across the presentation screen.
The power light is completely off. "Red" standby light is no longer lit up. Pressing power button does not power on the camera.
When this happens it means you have held the power button down too long when shutting down your camera. If you hold the power button down for an excess of more than 5 seconds, the power light will turn all the way off. This is called a "hard reset". To power on your camera again you will need to unplug the power cord and plug it back in. To prevent your camera from going into "hard reset" mode again. Please only press the power button for 1 second and let go when shutting down your camera. The camera will then go into Standby mode (red light).

- I have set up the Doc Cam and checked all the connections but I cannot get a picture on the preferred presentation screen.

- If you discover that the image is blurry or out of focus, press the Auto Focus button on the control panel or remote control.
How do I record a video using the on-board recording button?
Insert a USB flash drive into the USB memory slot. USB dip Switch should be moved towards the USB symbol. Now simply press the "Recording" button on your unit's control panel. To stop the recording, press the "Recording" button again. The video will save in .AVI format in your USB flash drive. F50 can support USB flash drive from 2GB to 64 GB.
Insert a SD card into the SD card memory slot. From your document camera's Menu, select Setting tab > Current Storage > SD memory card > enter. Now simply press the "Recording" button on your unit's control panel. To stop the recording, press the "Recording" button again. The video will save in .AVI format in your SD card. F50 can support SD card from 1GB to 32GB.
How do I transfer captured images/videos to a computer?
This enables you to transfer the captured image from the built-in memory or SD to a computer.
The instruction below MUST be read and followed BEFORE connecting the USB cable.
- Make sure to set the USB switch to for the computer to detect AVerVision F50HD.
- MUST set the USB to PC as STORAGE before connecting the USB cable.
- When "Mass Storage Start…" appears at the lower right corner of the presentation screen, you may now connect the USB cable.
Upon connecting the USB cable, the system automatically detects the new removable disk. You can now transfer the captured image(s) from the F50HD built-in memory to the computer hard disk.
How do I connect to a microscope?
Connect the AVerVision F50 to a microscope enables you to examine microscopic objects on a big screen. You need to purchase the optional accessory "VISIFSEMA".
- Change the image display mode to Microscope. Press MENU > select IMAGE tab > select MODE > select (microscope) and press .
- Aim the camera head at the farthest point and press AUTO FOCUS.
- Adjust the focus of the microscope.
- Select the appropriate rubber coupler size for the microscope eyepiece and insert it in the microscope adapter.
- Remove the microscope eyepiece from the microscope and connect it to the microscope adapter with the rubber coupler inserted. Fasten the 3 bolts until the adapter secures the eyepiece.
For the eyepiece, we suggest using 15.5mm eye relief or higher. - Attach the microscope adapter to the AVerVision camera head. Then connect it to the AVerVision and microscope.
Make sure the arrow on the camera head and microscope adapter are on the same side to connect and twist clockwise for the arrows to meet and lock.

If the Laptop Screen is Black
When you plug in the port replicator and your laptop screen turns black, it is probably set to “Projector Only”. Press the Display key for your laptop four times. This will change it to "Computer Only" and bring back the screen on your laptop.
To Make the Laptop and Monitor Match
Press the Display key for your laptop, and select Duplicate.
Using Both the Laptop Screen and the Monitor
To do this, you will need to set the display to Extend. Press your Display key and select Extend. This will set the displays to work as two separate monitors. To change the position of where your laptop thinks your LCD monitor is, click the Pearl (Start Button) and type Adjust Screen Resolution. Click Identify and drag the "2" to the position you would like.

How do I scan and print on the copier?
- Login to Copier:
- Using your copier PIN or your ID Badge
- Using your copier PIN or your ID Badge
- Print a document
- Make sure you sent your print job on your windows computer to the Virtual_Toshiba printer
- Login to Copier using your PIN or your school-issued ID Badge
- PaperCut will then display a list of your print jobs
- Select which ones you want to print or choose the print all button
- Scan a document
- Login to Copier using your PIN or your ID Badge
- On the PaperCut Screen push the “ACCESS DEVICE” button
- Press the "SCAN" button on the home screen
- Press the "TEMPLATE" button near the top of the screen
- Choose the "PUBLIC GROUP TEMPLATE" button
- Choose your scan location by selecting it on the screen
- You are now ready to press the scan button
- OPTIONAL: Creating a shortcut to your scan location saves you time and is easy
- At the top of the screen next to the "TEMPLATE" button, press the "Home+" button (looks like a house with a plus sign)
- Choose a location on your home screen by pressing of one of the available + signs
- Press on the "Name 2" button and give your shortcut a simple name. Then press OK on the on-screen keyboard
- Press the OK button on the next screen to save your changes
- Now that you have created the shortcut from this point forward to scan all you will have to do is log in to the copier and press "ACCESS DEVICE" button, and then choose your shortcut

- Contact your building’s administrative assistant with the CPI system number which can be found on the sticker on the front of the machine

- If you cant find the right input try the Source Search on your remote.
- If you don't have sound when the projector is off there is a setting in the projector that can be changed.
- If the volume is not high enough try turning the sound up using the projector remote.
- If your screen is cut off or the image looks weird try changing inputs then changing back.

- If the projector makes a crunching sound and doesn't display anything it usually means a bad color wheel.
- If the Lamp warning message appears and its still bright then your lamp hours need to be reset.
- Please turn off the project instead of using AV mute if not using the projector for extend periods of time.

Chromebook possible Issues
Chromebook will not turn on.
Dell chromebooks just make sure you have tried to charge the chromebook with a different power cord. If it still doesn’t power on please put in a work dude.
Chromebook will not get on the network.
Chromebooks that will not connect to the network need to be restarted. If you are still not able to connect to the network you need to put in a school dude.
Chromebook Screen is all fuzzy.
The chromebooks have different resolution then the computers. If the resolution gets changed the letters, numbers, etc. will show up different then they should. To change the resolution you need to click on the time in the bottom right hand corner-setting-display setting. Change the resolution to 1366x768 (Best).

Cable Management
Cable management for the new carts is really easy! Students should plug in the Chromebook with the plug to the right.
Chromebook Placement
Chromebook placement is having the Chromebook with the hinge down to put less weight on the screen. This enables you to keep from pulling out the cords longer than they should be.
The Red Button
The Red Button
This button is used to charge your Chromebooks. If the cart is not plugged in overnight or the Chromebooks did not get charged, the red button will start a 4 hour charging cycle. The charging cycle is only one shelf at a time. It will charge the first shelf for 15 minutes and then the second shelf will charge.
The red light on the button will start blinking when the charge has started. If you would like to stop the charge, press the button again and the red light should stay lit. If there is a cord that does not light up, please put in a school dude for that Chromebook.
Lost or Stolen School IDs
If your badge has been stolen, please notify Mark Deeds.
This form requires that you have a school issued Google account. If you do not have a school issued Google account, please notify your supervisor immediately that your badge was lost or stolen and they can submit the form for you.
