Communication Principles of Ozark Schools

Our goal is to communicate early and often with all district stakeholders.

As a district, we are committed to ensuring that all stakeholders are connected to our district through consistent communication about their specific programs, activities and classrooms.

Website: The district website is designed to be a resource for staff, families, students and community members. The district website is managed by the Ozark Schools’ communications department. Each building’s section of the website is monitored by the designated building communication coordinator.

Mass NotificationsThe district has a mass notification system to send rapid messages (phone, text, or calls) to all district stakeholders. This messaging system shall be used at the discretion of the district and/or building administrators or the district's communications department.

E-News & Staff Update: The district has created two platforms of communication for the appropriate stakeholder groups. Families and staff will receive a weekly message called Ozark Tiger E-News. This platform was designed to be inclusive of student activities, staff accomplishments/recognitions, and any major messaging that needs to be sent to the broader community. Staff Update is designed as the primary communication tool for all staff. This platform will encompass all staff-specific information, deadlines, and opportunities.

Social MediaThe district focuses various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. These platforms encompass student and staff accomplishments, important events, and any other major news throughout the week.

Crisis CommunicationThe district’s number one priority is student and staff safety. There are procedures in place for when and how to communicate with the appropriate stakeholders. In any and all situations, the district will communicate with the appropriate authorities to ensure that the number one priority is met. When appropriate, the district will notify those who are directly affected by the situation and will create a generalized message for the greater community.
