District
The Ozark School District is making significant progress in its strategic planning process, shaping the next five-year Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). With Phase 1 completed, the district is now preparing for Phase 2, an essential step that will involve gathering input from all staff members, parents and students across the district to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive vision for the future.
Ozark High School is proud to announce that seniors Savannah Miller and Amelia Cazier have been recognized in the prestigious 2025 Missouri Scholars 100 program, a statewide initiative that honors the top academic students in Missouri. Savannah has been selected as one of the top 100 scholars, and Amelia has received an Honorable Mention for their outstanding academic achievements.
Ozark High School Educators Rising students shined at the Missouri State Competition at Westminster College on Friday, March 7. The students represented OHS with exceptional skill and dedication, with 15 students placing in the top ten in their event, with 10 of those students taking home first place. We are so proud of their accomplishments!
Ozark High School government students had a rare and exciting opportunity to witness the judicial system in action as the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, held a special oral argument session in OHS’s auditorium on Feb. 27. This event provided students with a firsthand look at the appellate process, allowing them to observe real-world legal proceedings and gain insight into the complexities of the justice system.
At Ozark Junior High, there is a place where creativity knows no bounds, where students step outside their comfort zone and collaborate with each other to explore the unknown. That place is the Makery Club.

Tiger Paw
Preschool screening appointments are now available! If you live in the Ozark School District, your child may be eligible to attend one of our Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center programs. Research shows investing in children early has huge benefits, not only to academic and cognitive skills, but early childhood education helps children improve social and emotional skills, language skills and adaptive skills, which are necessary for kindergarten readiness.

Just one month after Ozark’s Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center received $100,000 in grants allowing the addition of two preschool classrooms, Tiger Paw received another grant allowing families to save money. This new grant, valued up to $780,000, will pay tuition for students who will enter kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year.
Ozark School District held its Fourth Annual OZcar Awards ceremony Aug. 13, kicking off the 2024-25 school year with a districtwide meeting. Five district winners received awards.
Elementaries

OMS
Fifth graders at Ozark Middle School sat attentively as Craig Kondracki, OMS counselor, stood before them.
"Are you creative, analytical, adventurous or compassionate?" he asked. “Today, we're going to talk about something really important, you. Your personality, your interests, and how they might connect to your future career.”
Ozark Middle School fifth graders in social studies class learned more than history during the first semester. Many of them also had a lesson in compassion, empathy and how it is better to give than to receive.

Students had a great time celebrating and honoring our veterans across the District for Veterans Day. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to attend one (or many) of our assemblies or even read a book and talk to students about what it means to be a veteran. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has served.
The Math Mentor Squad is comprised of OMS sixth grade math teachers Emily Burns and Josiah Johnson who make fun, engaging math videos for students. Since debuting the videos in the 2023-24 school year, they have not only seen more students engaged in class, but they've noticed students having more confidence.

Ozark High School is hosting a Transition and Resource Fair from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Ozark Innovation Center for area junior high and high school-aged students who may be in special education, have a 504 or an IEP. The come-and-go event will be an informational night with more than 20 local agencies and organizations coming together to meet with parents, guardians and students to talk about types of support and help available.

Ozark Junior High School hosted its second annual Team Day on Sept. 20, an event designed to foster teamwork, school spirit and a sense of belonging among students. The day focused on bringing students together to learn the importance of collaboration in a fun and engaging way, while also helping them bond with their teams.

From codebreakers to fossil hunters, OHS’s Science Olympiad Team is bringing their A-game as they advance to state! Congratulations to the Science Olympiad team for an impressive showing at the regional competition held at Missouri State University on Saturday, Feb. 22. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they secured a top-five finish, qualifying for the state competition in April.
Help us congratulate FFA advisor and teacher Heath Wright for being named a 2025 Golden Owl Semi-Finalist! The Golden Owl Award® recognizes Missouri agricultural educators for their tremendous contributions to helping the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Ozark FFA students showcased their hard work and dedication recently, competing against 22 area schools in the Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) competition. Each student completed a 16-18 page application detailing their high school experience in various agriculture fields.
Academies

Ozark FFA students showcased their hard work and dedication recently, competing against 22 area schools in the Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) competition. Each student completed a 16-18 page application detailing their high school experience in various agriculture fields.
Ozark High School will be well-represented at the State HOSA Conference in late March in Rolla, as several students have qualified to compete in various healthcare-related events
Ozark High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students demonstrated their skills and business knowledge at the 2025 FBLA District Competition, earning 46 medals, seven district championships, and 24 state qualifications.
Ozark High School art students, led by art teacher Ashleigh Hawkins, have been busy spreading holiday cheer all over the Ozark Square and OIC! Their vibrant and festive window paintings have turned the area into a magical winter wonderland, bringing smiles and holiday spirit to the whole community.
Students in Mrs. Russo's Cybersecurity class recently stepped into the role of IT directors for a marketing company. Their mission? Investigate a new employee's desk to ensure proper "personal security" practices were being followed.
Bond
On April 5, 2022, Ozark voters approved a $19 million no tax increase bond issue to construct three storm shelters and an indoor activities building at the high school. In fall 2024, those projects were completed as promised, making our schools safer with a storm shelter at every building. The district not only was able to accommodate growth, but remained under budget. During a Feb. 6 work session, the Board of Education allocated how to spend the remaining $5 million.
A new chapter for Ozark High School student activities began on Aug. 22, 2024, as the Ozark community, along with state and local representatives, school and District staff, OHS band students, cheerleaders, and JROTC cadets, gathered to cut the ribbon for the OHS storm shelter/gym and the new indoor activities center.
Ozark School District is excited to celebrate the completion of our latest 2022 bond project with the official Ribbon Cutting for the new indoor activity center and storm shelter/gym at Ozark High School on Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m.
Spring of 2024 has already proven the need for Ozark School District to have a storm shelter at every building. And, as of May 21, Ozark is one step closer with the official Ribbon Cutting for the storm shelter at Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center.

Ozark Middle School was filled with laughter, joy and singing on March 8, 2024 as the Ozark community, state and local representatives, school and District staff and OMS choir students gathered to cut the official ribbon for the OMS storm shelter, classrooms, offices and new entrance.
