Lego Robotic Club
    JR. HIGH
     Lego Robotics Club
While in the Robotics Club you learn to get out of your comfort zone by talking to new people and trying to plan events to make the goal of that year possible.  The students work very hard up until the day of competition to get their robot to function just the way they want it to.  Their goal is to stick with robotics all through high school and earn scholarships through the FIRST TECH program.
OJH Robotics is a competition team that competes at the FIRST TECH competitions.  This year they were 7 out of 12 teams at the Monett meet and 4 out of 20 at their Qualifying Competition at Glendale.
This year the coach is Mrs. Suiter and Mrs. Woods is the co-coach that helps make what they are doing possible.  They have been meeting every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:30 p.m. to prepare for competitions.
Mrs. Suiter has a Bachelor of Arts in Earth Science.  She is certified to teach science for grades 5-9.   She has been teaching for 16 years and has been at OJH for 2 years now.  She has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  She taught at Green Valley for 9 years and at Republic for 5 years.  Mrs. Suiter has done Lego Robotics for 9 years, 4 of those years at Green Valley, 3 years at Republic, and 2 years here at Ozark.  Her favorite Lego theme for the competition was Nano Technology.
Mrs. Woods is the co-coach for Robotics Club.  She has been teaching for 10 years.  This will be her second year helping out with Robotics Club. Ms. Woods went to college at Missouri State and has a degree in biology and chemistry.
