Final examinations will be given at the end of the Fall semester in all classes. These finals are to count for no more than 10% of a student’s final grade. According to policy, students may opt out of individual class finals if they meet the following criteria:
● Cumulative absence of two (2) days or fewer from school during the semester
o Two days are calculated based on total minutes.
o One day is equal to 395 minutes (6.58 hours). Therefore, a student who has
missed a cumulative of 790 minutes (13.16 hours) of school or less meets the
● Have an A, B, or C in the class
● Have not been assigned any In-School Suspensions (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspensions
(OSS) by an administrator during the semester
Additionally, students who opt out of taking their final(s) can choose to not attend school on those dates; however, they need to be aware that the absence(s) will count toward their overall attendance percentage.
Students eligible to opt out will be encouraged to take their finals if there is a chance the student could raise their letter grade.
Students need to turn in the final excusal form to the attendance office no later than Tuesday December 17th.

Students taking individual finals need to check in and out of school through the office with the proper Note to Leave which can also be found on the website under For Students, then Finals Information, or by clicking HERE.
Wednesday, December 18th - All A Day Finals
Thursday, December 19th - All B Day Finals
This Finals Schedule is subject to change based on weather related issues or administrative decision. Students are not allowed to take finals earlier than the scheduled date and time. Exceptions will not be made, even if the Finals Schedule changes.
