Degrees and Certifications:
I live in Ozark with my husband and our four children; Chloe 18, Riley 15, Brock and Brady 14 (twins). Chloe graduated this last year from Ozark and will be attending OTC this next year. Riley’s passion is basketball, she plays competitivly year round. Both boys are very active in baseball, spring/summer along with football, wrestling, and basketball in the fall/winter. So I guess you caould say we are a very active/busy family as are many of you.
I graduated from MSU in 95’ with a BS in education and have taught for the Ozark School District for the last 23 years, fifth grade for seven years and sixth grade for 17. In the summer of 2013, I completed my Master’s degree in Education through Lindenwood University.
Currently I teach ELA, English Language Arts, to approximately three fourths of the students on the Incredibles team. Learning and fun go hand in hand in my class. If your child comes home and says we danced in Mrs. Dodd's class, it’s probably true.
Effectively communicating with others and being able to comprehend what is written is absolutely essential in today’s society yet fewer and fewer students do not enjoy reading and writing. It is one of my goals to change this trend.
I have high expectations for all of my students and with consistency and positive attitudes I believe all students can achieve success. I try to create a safe learning environment for all my students. This is the only way students will take a risk and grow in their abilities.
I look forward to working with you and your child. It’s going to be an INCREDIBLE year.
