  • Anna Thurman Named East Elementary Principal

    Anna Thurman has been the assistant principal at South Elementary since 2013. Thurman began teaching in 2001 and has taught multiple grade levels. She joined Ozark School District in 2007 teaching fourth grade before moving to elementary science in 2010.

    It all added up for Ozark School District Elementary Math Coach Tracey Roussell Nov. 30, as the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics named her Outstanding Missouri Math Coach of the Year at the fall conference.

  • KITES Students Talk Real-World Water Problems with Kenya Residents

    “Why did you want to build a well?” “Are there poisonous animals that prevent children from going to school?” “What do the houses look like?” “What do you do for entertainment?” These are just a few of the questions Ozark elementary KITES students asked their special guests — Mathias George and Barbara Burgwin from Kenya, and Riley Snyder, a Branson resident who started the nonprofit organization Generation Next.

  • Dream Big, Do Good: Ozark Teacher Wins $1,000

    The sign in Tori McBain’s office says “Everyone smiles in the same language.” And the smiles on her and the faces of her students say it all. Silver Dollar City recently notified McBain, an English-language learner teacher at Ozark South and West elementary schools, that she won $1,000 in the Dream Big, Do Good campaign.
