• OHS Library General Information

      • Books may be checked out for a two-week period and renewed once if necessary.  Students do not have to have the book in hand to renew an item. Materials being returned are to be placed in the book return at the end of the circulation desk or in the hallway dropbox.
      • Students are responsible for any item checked out in their name.  If a student fails to return a book or returns the item with visible damage, they will be required to pay for the book or replace it with a like-kind item.  For example, if the lost/damaged book was a hardback edition, the student will need to provide the library with a hardback edition. Used books will be considered, but must be in "Very Good" or "Good" condition.  Students who do not return overdue materials or pay for lost/damaged materials will not be able to check out additional books or be able to register for classes in the spring. Seniors with overdue materials will not receive diplomas until accounts are cleared.
      • Students needing a book for an assignment may access ebooks from Destiny, the online card catalog, and download to their computer at school for offline use in case of no internet access.
      • Students may print school work using the library lab computers to the black/white printer (HP4015-located in the printing kiosk). If a student needs a color copy, they must send the document to their respective teacher or the librarians to be printed to the virtual copy machine.  Print jobs can be retrieved by logging into the virtual copy machine in the counseling office using teacher badge or 4-digit code.
      • Printing and copying personal materials require permission from the librarians and will range in cost from .10/page b&w and .25/page for color.
      • Food is not permitted in the LRC due to students in our school with severe nut allergies.  Any student found eating in the library will be asked to dispose of the food item and/or asked to leave the library. Drinks are permitted but must have a lid to contain liquids.
      • Staff or students that have reserved the LRC including the group study room, collaborative tables or study booths will always have priority for space and materials over casual users.
      • Students are ALWAYS welcome in the library.  However, during the school day, unless visiting with a class, students must have a signed pass from their current block teacher to remain in the library.  Students with a teacher’s pass visiting from a class must have work from that class in order to remain in the LRC and must stay on task or they will be asked to return to class.
      • Students enrolled in online courses are asked to sign in at the desk indicating such an arrangement.
      • Students who are disruptive may be asked to leave the library at any time by the librarian(s).
