Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program
-
Ozark School District strives to provide students with access to a wide array of learning opportunities in order to help them succeed in life after graduation. The District realizes children have unique learning styles, and we are here to adapt to your child’s needs.
That’s why Ozark School District embraces online learning opportunities such as the Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program. Known as MOCAP, the online program for grades K-12 is overseen by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the State Board of Education. The new law allows public school students to have an avenue for free online, virtual education.
Currently Ozark School District offers many learning opportunities at the high school level, including seated courses, online courses, career readiness classes, dual credit, AP and IB advanced courses, college courses through Ozarks Technical Community College, as well as GO CAPS (Greater Ozarks Centers for Advanced Professional Studies) and the A+ program.
MOCAP enhances those opportunities, giving students one more avenue to learn and find success. Online/virtual courses are available through a number of vendors, which can be found on the MOCAP website.
Students are free to mix all offered courses — seated, online, MOCAP, etc. — in any combination of classes, depending on what works best for their learning style.
In accordance with 161.670 RSMo and School Board policies - IGCD and IGCE, registration and payment for MOCAP online courses will be completed by Ozark School District for those students who qualify.
