FBLA is for 9-12 students only! The mission statement for FBLA is to bring busniess and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. There are over 214,000 members and there are more than 5,250 chapters. In Missouri there are 16,590 members and over 500 chapter across the state, making Missouri the second largest chapter in the nation. FBLA offers the Joanne Newcomer Scholarship, this is awarded to a stduent who goes into busniess education and is engaged in FBLA.
FBLA works to encourage and support entrepreneurship. FBLA's National Awards Program, often called competitive events, rewards excellence in busniess and career related areas. During conferences, members compete in events that test their busniess knowledge and skills. Dues are $10 without a t shirt and $20 with a t shirt.
Mrs. Bolks is the sponsor for FBLA. It is her 12th year of teaching at the Ozark High School and 20th in career, having stops in Iowa and Kansas. Besides being the sponsor of FBLA, she teaches Computer Applications I, Computer Applications II, MultiMedia, and Introduction to Business.
